Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council is a representative body of Christ’s faithful with the purpose of promoting the mission of the Church in all its aspects. In this parish, the members of the Council will at all times work in close collaboration with the parish priest to advise him in matters pertaining to pastoral ministry. It meets 4 times a year, in the Church Hall, to agree on long and short-term aims and objectives, and to plan and implement the procedures and processes by which the pastoral work of the church is to be accomplished in the parish. You can access the minutes via this link. To ensure that it is capable of doing so every meeting will begin with a time of prayer and reflection, and reciting their prayer to the Holy Spirit. The members of the Parish Pastoral Council are:
|Fr. Harry McKay (Parish Priest)||John Cannovan (Chair)||Bridie Dowds (Secretary)|
|Teresa Costello||Brenda Docherty||Helen Gray|
|Irene Kinnaird||Veronica Slaven||Mary Agnes Coleman|
|Maureen McGeeney||Alex McGrory|
Prayer to The Holy Spirit.
Breathe into us, Holy Spirit, that our thoughts may all be holy.
Move in us, Holy Spirit, that our work, too may be holy,
Attract our hearts, Holy Spirit, that we may love only what is holy.
Strengthen us, Holy Spirit, that we may defend all that is holy.
Protect us, Holy Spirit, that we may always be holy.
Use us Holy Spirit to unite and strengthen our Parish Family of St Joseph’s.
We ask all of this, In the name of the Father, and of the son and of the
Holy Spirit Amen.
