St. Elizabeth of Hungary

St. Elizabeth of Hungary (1207-1231).  Daughter of King Andrew of Hungary, while till young she was married to Ludwig, Landgrave of Thuringia, and bore him three children.  After her husband’s death, she embraced evangelical poverty and spent her days caring for the sick in a hospice which she had built, before dying at Marburg.
